Description

VinFlex 10P — Desiccant for Filled Polymers

What Is  VinFlex 10P ?

VinFlex 10P is a chemical desiccant for filled polymer compounds. Added directly to the compound, it chemically reacts with moisture during processing — preventing the pinholes, blistering, silver streaks, and porosity that ruin compound quality and yield.

Manufactured by Vin Group,  VinFlex 10P is designed for compounders working with filled polymers where entrapped moisture causes processing defects.

The Problem: Moisture Defects in Filled Polymers

At processing temperatures of 140°C–170°C, entrapped moisture in filled compounds converts into vapour and gas. As that vapour tries to escape the melt, it leaves behind:

  • Pinholes
  • Blistering
  • Rough surface finish
  • Porosity
  • Silver streaks
  • Loss of physical properties

If moisture remains trapped, it also causes poor cell formation and voids, further degrading product quality.

For compounders, these defects translate directly into scrap, rejected lots, and lost margin.

How VinFlex 10P Works

VinFlex 10P chemically reacts with H₂O molecules during their conversion into vapour and gas. The reaction forms stable compounds at high processing temperatures, preventing the formation of free vapour and gas that would otherwise damage the product during processing.

The result: moisture is neutralised before it can create defects.

Benefits of VinFlex 10P

  • Eliminates pinholes, porosity, blistering, and silver streaks
  • Improves surface finish and gloss
  • Prevents void formation and the loss of physical and mechanical properties
  • Ensures consistent quality in filled polymer compounds

Why VinFlex 10P vs Physical Drying Methods

Approach What It Does The Trade-Off
Oven heating Removes surface moisture High energy cost, time-consuming, risks material degradation from prolonged drying
Hot-air drying Removes free moisture High energy cost, can deteriorate material properties over time
VinFlex 10P Chemically locks moisture during processing Adds its own weight to batch — negligible cost increase, no extra cycle time

Recommended Dosage & Method of Use

1.5 % – 3 % (by weight) of the total batch size

Actual dosage depends on the polymer type, processing conditions and level of filler loading

Packaging, Storage & Shelf Life

  • Packaging: 1 Kg packs (25 kg bag)
  • Storage: Cool, dry conditions, away from direct sunlight
  • TDS, MSDS, and CoA available on request

What is VinFlex 10P used for?

VinFlex 10P is a chemical desiccant used in filled polymer compounds. It eliminates moisture-driven defects — pinholes, blistering, silver streaks, porosity, rough surface finish, and loss of physical properties — that occur at processing temperatures of 140°C–170°C.

How does a chemical desiccant work in plastic processing?

A chemical desiccant reacts with water molecules during processing and converts them into stable compounds at high temperature. This prevents free vapour and gas from forming inside the melt — which is what causes pinholes, blisters, and silver streaks in the finished product.

What causes pinholes, blistering, and silver streaks in plastic processing?

The most common cause is entrapped moisture. At processing temperatures of 140°C–170°C, this moisture converts to vapour and gas. As the gas tries to escape the melt, it leaves behind pinholes, blisters, silver streaks, porosity, and rough surface finish.

Is VinFlex 10P better than oven drying or hot-air drying?

For filled polymer compounds, yes. Physical drying methods consume energy, take time, and can deteriorate material properties when prolonged. VinFlex 10P chemically reacts with moisture during processing itself — no extra cycle time, negligible cost increase, and no risk of material degradation from over-drying.

Does VinFlex 10P add cost to my batch?

The cost increase is negligible. VinFlex 10P adds its own weight to the batch, so the additional cost is offset by the volume contribution — while delivering measurable quality improvement.
