VinBond

VinBond is Vin Group’s range of grafted polymers — maleic anhydride grafted polyolefins (PP-g-MAH, PE-g-MAH, POE-g-MAH) and GMA-grafted PE — used as coupling agents and compatibilizers in plastic compounding.
From glass-filled PP to wood-plastic composites to recycled polymer alloys, VinBond improves fibre-matrix adhesion, dispersion, and strength.

Description

VinBond — Grafted Polymers & Coupling Agents

What is VinBond ?

VinBond is Vin Group’s range of grafted polymers used as coupling agents and compatibilizers in plastic compounding. The range includes maleic anhydride grafted polyolefins (PP-g-MAH, PE-g-MAH, POE-g-MAH) and glycidyl methacrylate grafted PE (GMA-g-PE)

Why Compounders Choose VinBond

  • Wide substrate range — MAH grafted on PE, PP, and POE (Polyolefin Elastomer) & GMA grafted on PE
  • Multiple grafting levels — 0.5% MAH to 1.5% MAH, so you can dial in performance vs cost
  • Consistent batch-to-batch grafting levels, verified by in-house QC
  • Manufactured in India since 1997, supplying leading compounders nationwide
  • Technical support for dosage optimisation and trial runs

Applications of VinBond

VinBond grafted polymers are used across these compounding applications:

  • Coupling agent in glass-filled PP and glass-filled PA (nylon) compounds — improves fibre-matrix adhesion, raises tensile and flexural strength.
  • Coupling agent in mineral-filled PP compounds (talc, calcium carbonate, wollastonite) — better dispersion, higher impact, lower moisture pickup.
  • Coupling agent in natural fibre and wood-filled polymer compounds (WPC) — critical for wood-plastic composite decking, furniture, and automotive interior parts.
  • Compatibilizer for polymer alloys from mixed scrap — enables commercial alloys from Nylon/PP and Nylon/PE waste streams, opening up recycling economics.

What is a coupling agent in plastic compounding?

A coupling agent is an additive that improves adhesion between a polymer matrix and a filler or fibre (such as glass, talc, or wood flour). It chemically bridges two materials that would otherwise not bond well, raising the mechanical performance of the compound.

What is the difference between PP-g-MAH and PE-g-MAH?

PP-g-MAH is maleic anhydride grafted onto polypropylene and is used in PP-based filled or fibre-reinforced compounds.

PE-g-MAH is grafted onto polyethylene and is used in PE compounds, WPC, and certain nylon/PE alloys.

The choice depends on the base polymer in your compound.

What dosage of VinBond should I use?

Typical dosage is 0.3% to 1.5% by weight of the total compound.

  • Glass-filled compounds usually need more (1%–1.5%);  mineral-filled compounds often work with 0.5%–1%.
  • Final dosage should be optimised on your line.

Can VinBond be used in wood-plastic composites (WPC)?

Yes. VinBond MAH grafted polyolefins are widely used as coupling agents in WPC to bond wood fibre to PE or PP, improving strength and reducing water absorption.

Is VinBond suitable for recycled polymer blends?

Yes. VinBond is used as a compatibilizer for alloys made from mixed scrap streams, including Nylon/PP and Nylon/PE, making commercial recycling of these blends viable.

Do you provide free samples?
