Description
Key Benefits
- RotoLustre reduces pinholes through better first-layer formation, which means fewer surface defects in the finished tank.
- It improves shine and finish, giving the tank a brighter, more premium surface.
- It improves strength, because more uniform layer formation contributes to overall tank strength.
- It increases the performance of mould-releasing chemicals, because better flow inside the mould helps release agents work more effectively.
- It is designed specifically for outside-sourced LLDPE powder, helping manufacturers who don’t control their raw powder quality.
- Its first-layer targeted application concentrates the effect exactly where it matters most — at the tank surface.
Industries Served
RotoLustre serves the LLDPE rotomoulding industry, specifically:
- Water Tank Manufacturing — roto moulded LLDPE storage tanks
- LLDPE Rotomoulded Article Manufacturing — tanks and articles produced via rotational moulding
- Manufacturers Using Externally-Sourced LLDPE Powder sage optimisation and first-layer application

What is RotoLustre?
RotoLustre is a specially modified low molecular weight polymer-based additive used to reduce pinholes and improve shine in LLDPE water tank rotomoulding. It is supplied as a very fine white powder and is applied to the first layer only during the moulding process.
What is the recommended dosage of RotoLustre?
The recommended dosage is 1.0 – 1.5% (w/w) of the first layer polymer weight. For example, if your first layer uses 10 kg of LLDPE, you would add 100 g of RotoLustre (at 1.0% dosage).
Where in the rotomoulding process is RotoLustre added?
RotoLustre is used in the first layer only. It is hand-mixed with LLDPE powder before the powder is charged into the mould.
Why is RotoLustre used only in the first layer?
The first layer of a rotomoulded tank defines the surface finish, shine, and pinhole behaviour of the finished product. Concentrating the additive in the first layer delivers maximum benefit where it matters most — at the surface — without adding cost to subsequent layers.
Does RotoLustre improve tank strength?
Yes. More uniform layer formation contributes to tank strength alongside the surface and finish benefits.
How should RotoLustre be stored?
RotoLustre is supplied in 25 kg bags and should be stored in normal, dry conditions, away from moisture. The bag should not be kept open to avoid contamination — open only what you need at the time of use.
What is the appearance and particle size of RotoLustre?
RotoLustre is a very fine white powder, designed to disperse uniformly through LLDPE rotomoulding powder when hand-mixed before charging.
Is RotoLustre manufactured in India?
Yes. RotoLustre is manufactured in India by Vin Group, an ISO 9001:2015 certified plastic and rubber additive manufacturer operating since 1997.
